My grandfather is William Jonathan Longfellow of Harrington DE married Anna Elizabeth Hubertina von Goerres in 1915. His father is Wm. Longfellow of Harrington. We think Wm. Jonathan was born in 1892 and died in 1963. We can find him in the 1920 census. I would like to know who was his mother and then the next generation up from there. Any help would be appreciated.

Manlove Mariann Fisk Laughlin Monday, January 17, 2005 1:32 AM
I am looking for information on the parents of my 3x great grandfather Bartholomew Manlove. He was born in Kent County, DE in 1776, according to the 1850 Texas census.
Bartholomew married Avarilla (also spelled Aberilla in some places) Perkins in Baltimore County, MD in 1807. They moved to Kentucky shortly after that and I find him in the 1810 and 1830 Kentucky censuses with his family.

I have looked in censuses for Kent County, but they do not show the names of children this early. I need a lookup for land or probate records in Kent county. Bartholomew is said in our family to have been an only child. There is a Bartholomew Manlove born in 1776 whose parents are listed as Ann/Nancy Bolling and William Manlove. Ann/Nancy Bolling is from Virginia, however. She and her sister married brothers. Elizabeth Bolling married Christopher Manlove and Ann/Nancy married Christopher's brother, William.

I can find no conclusive documentation of Bartholomew's parents or birth, but he seems to have large sums of money to buy slaves at the age of 24, and I have found documents of sales of land by him to people in Maryland, prior to his move to Kentucky. Also, I find the relatives of Dr. Christopher Henry Manlove of Virginia (who left and settled his family in Robertson County, Tennessee), moving to Texas and settling on Bartholomew's land grants. So I feel like that these people, also from Virginia Manloves, must be his relatives.
I also find the name Peter Lowber (who married Margaret Manlove) associated with him.

Since Ann/Nancy and William seem to have dropped off the face of the earth, I am wondering if Bartholomew could have been orphaned and living in another home with relatives at an early age.

Any lookup help for Bartholomew would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mariann Fisk Laughlin

Wooters Carol Curlile Friday, February 03, 2006 4:02 PM<
I'm working on the Wooters family that lived in Milford, 1890 to 1920, maybe longer. Annie B. Rolston married a Thomas Wooters April 17 1891. Their children were Bertha and Lester. I am interested in finding Annie's parents, and siblings. It appears that Annie's mother was a sister to John Wesley Carlisle. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you

Is anyone familiar with a MARK MILLER who appears on the 1800 Census in Little Creek, Kent Co, DE? I'm looking also for a John MILLER who emigrated from Holland to DE in the early 1800's. He may have gone on to NY then to IL. Does anyone have anyone in their database who might fit this description. He may have fought in the War of 1812 in Clinton Co,NY.

Benson Morgan Benson Thursday, January 25, 2007 11:59 PM
BENSON, Zenas (or various spellings of the first name) - b. 1822 & d. 1867 in Kent Co., DE. Married Catherine Reynolds in 1843. They had 10 children (John Thomas, Mary, Sarah Elizabeth, William, Elizabeth, Adeline, Wilmer, Ella Alamina, Alden & Elmer). Zenas & his wife owned a farm in Kent County & stayed there all their lives. We are desperately trying to find who Zenas parents were and who his siblings (if there were any) were. He states in census that he was born in DE - during one census a Sarah was living with them, census taker listed her as a Benson and as his mother (we can find no record of her buried in DE, no birth, death or marriage date for her and no wills listing her, however). Any one with a Zenas (Yeamus, etc.) Benson in their Kent Co., DE family tree, please contact us! I am a direct descendants! My grandfather was Wilmer K. Benson, Sr., son of John Thomas Benson.
